My Studio
I'm currently living in Japan, and most of my studio gear is in storage back in Canada. I have my PowerBook and all of my software with me, as well as a pair of Sony MDR-V900 headphones and an M-Audio O2 portable MIDI keyboard. The full rig is listed below.
Most of my production is done in software, using Logic Pro 7 and Reason 3, on a PowerBook G4 (1.67 GHz). I use a Kurzweil K2000, the many instruments and tools in Logic, and several other plugins. In the percussion section, LP Aspire congas and LP Matador bongos. For acoustic recordings, an AKG C1000S microphone connected to the pre-amp on my MOTU 828mkII, which serves as my computer audio interface, and also as a digital mixer. For monitoring, a pair of Tannoy Reveal studio monitors powered by a Yorkville SR-300 reference amp, and a Tannoy PS-110B powered sub.
Other instruments in the studio include a djembe, a didgeridoo and an Ibanez GSR-205 5 string bass guitar. The DJ rig includes two Technics SL-1200mk2 turntables, a Denon DN-2000FmkII double CD player, and a Numark DM1720X mixer.
